I served as one of five Commissioners elected to manage the $520 million dollar budget, 900 employees, and laws and policies of Carroll County.
Accomplishments include:

  • Instrumental in building a coalition of rural counties which formally became a part of the Maryland Association of Counties
  • Educating legislators
  • Facilitating the use of new technologies to create opportunities for economic development
  • Providing solutions and resources for constituent concerns
  • Networking with businesses and non-profits during regularly scheduled industry visits to learn about and solve challenges

  • Developing The Alliance – A Board of 14 sectors of the community represented by over 50 organizations with the goal of marketing services, identifying gaps in service and finding shared solutions to community issues.
